Chaos ensued on Wednesday in Baringo county assembly, after KANU MCAs fought each other, over in house positions.
The deadly fight erupted in the morning, when the said party affiliated MCAs were electing one of their representative, who would stand as a member of the public service board.
It is said, MCAs Sama Lokales (Tirioko), Solomon Makal (Kolowa) and Ameja Selemoi (Deputy speaker), locked up Nelson Lotela, MCA for Silale ward, inside deputy speaker’s office and beat him up, where they hit him on the head using metallic object, causing serious injuries.
The injured member was rushed to Kabarnet referral hospital for x ray and further treatment.
It is perceived that, the fight occurred due to a longterm grudge between Lotela and his rival political Selemoi
It took the courage of other daring MCAs, who broke the door to the locked office, so as to save their fellow member from the hands of ‘political rustlers’, since the key had been hidden.
“I was strangled and hit on the head with a metal that i became helpless since i was in the midst of three gigantic men who were mercilessly beating me”, injured Lotela told the media on his hospital bed.
“I know they wanted to kill him because he is more clever than them”, another member was heard whispering.
Another KANU party nominated MCA Caroline Kesei was also punched on the left chick, during the fight.
They were fighting over post of assembly service board representative.
This happens hardly a day, after the assembly members disbanded the public service board, for not maintaining integrity and non compliance to solid service delivery.
During Tuesday’s motion, Solomon makal who was among the fighters, was ousted as the board member.
