SONY on Thursday released a new firmware update for the PS4 and PS4 Pro family of consoles.
The biggest new inclusion PS4 firmware 6.50 now ready and available for download, is supported on iOS smartphones and tablets.
Smartphone users only need to download an app from the App Store – simply named PS4 Remote Play – and they’ll be able to use the feature on all their favorite Apple products.
According to Sony, the feature is compatible with PS4 games originally published after April 1, 2018, and a large majority of the most-played PS4 games that were released before this date.
“However, please note not all games and applications for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita systems are guaranteed to support the online ID change, and users may occasionally encounter issues or errors in certain games.”
writes Sony in the PSBlog.
The company added that if for any reason users experience issues after changing their ID, they can revert back to earlier original ID for free at any time since reverting back to an old ID will resolve most issues caused by the ID change.
