Rtd Prime Minister and NASA leader Rail Odinga has called on Kenyans to stop slapping him and president Uhuru Kenyatta with the dynasty tag.

Raila Odinga pointed out that terming the dynasty tag on them is unfair because they both have worked hard to where they are.

Speaking on Friday during the memorial service of the former chairperson of Maendeleo ya Wanawake Organization Jane Kiano in Karen, Raila said he and Uhuru Kenyatta have made themselves and judging them because of their prominent families is unfair.

“You cannot say Uhuru is a part of dynasty…… Jomo Kenyatta was a pauper before he fought to be where he got; Iam not part of any dynasty either. Jaramogi Oginga Odinga was just a pauper; you could say he was a hustler.”

“Raila is Raila the way he is and Uhuru is who he is because of himself, so you can’t say we are products of dynasties” he added.

Mrs. Kiano who died at the age of 74 at the Nairobi Hospital on October 25th, 2018 after a long battle with lung cancer was eulogized as a citizen who made tremendous contribution towards women empowerment in the country.

She was one of the founders of National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC).

Mrs. Jane Kiano was awarded the Elder if the Burning Spear in the year 1979.

She was a widow of the late former Cabinet Minister Julius Gikonyo Kiano.
